Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate

The Asia Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate is a ground-breaking climate change approach bringing together key developed and developing countries on practical pro-growth, technology-driven efforts addressing increased energy needs and associated challenges, including those related to air pollution, energy security, and greenhouse gas intensities. The partnership is an important initiative that engages, for the first time, the key greenhouse gas emitting countries in the Asia Pacific region on practical clean development and climate action.

The Cement Task Force accounts for 61 per cent of the world’s cement production. The Task Force facilitates the uptake of best available technology and environmental management systems in Partnership countries. CIF member companies have received in principle funding from the Australian Government for the following emerging technology projects:

Projects

Cement Kiln Co-generation
Co-processing of Solvent Based Fuels
Biosolids in Cement Production

The Task Force will assist in the provision of expert advice in relation to the opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas and other emissions levels through the introduction of these existing and emerging technologies and identify other key opportunities.
