History of the industry

For centuries mankind has been in pursuit of the perfect binding substance. Egyptians used a mix of lime and gypsium and Babalonians used clay as a form of early cement.

In the early 1900’s cement research and technology broke new ground. Joseph Aspdin (the father of the industry) a bricklayer from England, in 1824 took out a patent on a product he called “Portland Cement”.

The invention of Portland Cement heralded a new era in consturction. It was stronger than any other cement used at the time. No longer were architects limited to the shapes and forms of existing raw materials.

The invention of Portland Cement allowed experimental achitectual designs to become a reality. The technological advancement in consturction material lead to a new exciting era of modern achitecture. This advancement in technology changed the construction landscape globally.
