Our Team

Margie joined the CIF as Chief Executive in 2010. With post-graduate qualifications in economics and agricultural economics, Margie has extensive management experience in policy and program development, implementation and advocacy, both in Australia and internationally. Margie has worked for a wide range of organisations including the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation and the National Farmer’s Federation, and has served on numerous Boards and Advisory Councils.

Margie has a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics (University of Sydney) and a Master of Economics (University of New England)

Michael Ison

Policy & Research Manager

Michael joined the CIF in 2013 as Policy & Research Manager. Michael has over 20 years of experience in research and policy, covering a range of issues including climate change & energy, as well as health safety and the environment – and has extensive experience in project management and data analysis. Michael has been involved in a number of Standards Australia technical committees and has sat on the Standards Australia Council.

Michael has a Bachelor of Science (Geology – with Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts (English Literature) from the Australian National University.
